Large Kauri dining table made of root wood and tree trunk wood

I crafted this large dining table measuring 330 x 120 cm in my workshop according to the customer's specifications from a 4543-year-old original kauri tree trunk slab with burl wood, which has grown artistically in one piece. The old kauri tree with its original tree edges can be clearly seen in the solid tabletop of this exclusive real wood table.
Rare individual pieces are wooden tables where the natural growth of the tabletop changes from the root to the tree trunk.

At the bottom of the table, you can see the characteristic burl growth with its beautiful grain. It grows in all directions, creating a unique and artistic natural spectacle. I deliberately left the rustic tree edges as natural as they grew. This underscores the uniqueness of this exclusive dining table with its fascinating solid wood tabletop.
I have finished the tabletop with a high-quality surface treatment that makes it resistant to all types of moisture. No moisture stains will form, and the benefit for you is that you won’t have to maintain the dining table.

As seen here, I left the bark growth on the root in its original state and cast it in high-quality epoxy resin. In some areas, the natural resin of the kauri tree is visible, which hardens into golden amber over the course of millennia. This unique and natural process is one of the special quality characteristics that only prehistoric kauri wood offers. With these features, Kauri solid wood tables offer a touch of luxury and exclusivity, each one a truly unique piece. Exclusive luxury tables, as I define them.

With great attention todetail, the individual natural features of this one-of-a-kind piece have been handcrafted. The gnarled wood of the root requires a great deal of manual work and cannot be treated like a mass-produced item. I filled the transitions from the beautiful tree edges to the large, naturally formed openings in the tabletop with epoxy resin and shaped the edges organically to follow the natural contours of the tree edges.
The result is an exclusive real wood table with the unique number 113 and a quality product that retains its value and has special characteristics.

The tree trunk wood can be seen at the rear of the tabletop. The grain becomes calmer and, with its honey-gold color, also has a special appeal here, contributing to the elegant living environment. Grown in one piece, large kauri tabletops made of root wood and tree trunk wood offer unique natural characteristics and look like works of natural art.
