A modern table made of rare materials
In the world of high-end furniture, luxury does not mean excess, but rather the quality of materials, precision craftsmanship, uniqueness with a one-of-a-kind character, and timeless design. Premium furniture brands describe luxury as something valuable that arises from the quality of the materials, the care taken in craftsmanship, and the attention to detail. Such furniture is not intended for quick consumption, but for long-term use as heirlooms. With these considerations in mind, I crafted this exclusive designer dining table.

The luxury table, Unique No. 123, is crafted from a large kauri root, featuring a tabletop measuring 280 × 120 cm that was cut from a single piece. This is only possible because the kauri is one of the mightiest trees in the world: the species can grow over 50 meters tall, reach trunk circumferences of up to 16 meters, and live for over 2,000 years. The swamp kauri used today has been preserved in the ground in New Zealand for a very long time; the official estimate ranges from about 800 to 60,000 years.
More about the origin of the material

I cast one end of the distinctive tabletop in high-quality epoxy resin to achieve a specific parallel width requested by the customer. Here, I embedded genuine amber from the kauri tree. The tabletop features numerous growth rings, a lively grain, embedded bark, and golden amber. The use of epoxy resin creates clear, visible areas with a sense of depth, allowing one to literally see right into the tabletop.

With this table, luxury does not mean ostentation, but rather a calm, confident presence in the room. The large, solid tabletop, the natural grain, and the distinctive texture of the material make this table a statement piece, ideal for exclusive living spaces, elegant dining areas, and high-end interiors. In the world of fine furniture, it is precisely this combination of quality, timeless design, and meticulous craftsmanship that is understood as a modern form of luxury.

The table is custom-made to your specifications. I personally oversee the project from the initial consultation through to delivery. The selection of materials, the craftsmanship, and the integration into the space are all handled by a single source. The result is not an anonymous mass-produced item, but a one-of-a-kind piece with a clear provenance and its own distinctive character.

Luxury tables like this are built to last. In the world of high-end furniture, pieces of this kind are often described as durable, generational, and of “heirloom quality”—that is, as furniture meant to be kept, used, and passed down. This is precisely what defines the character of this Kauri table: it is not just a large dining table, but a unique piece with a lasting presence.

What makes this work special is the end-to-end process: from selecting the wood to crafting it by hand, applying a high-quality finish, and personally delivering the piece—every step remains under my control. In this way, the raw material is transformed into an exclusive designer dining table whose creation can be traced back to its origins and whose quality is evident at every stage.
