Large, majestic tabletops carved from a single piece of burl wood are particularly fascinating and impressive. While this is rarely possible with other types of wood, I craft designer tables of corresponding size from massive kauri roots. These are truly one-of-a-kind pieces that truly deserve the title of “unique table.”
Another unique feature of the Kauri tables is that I use wood sourced from swamp trees that are excavated along with their roots. The appearance of these impressive tabletops, with their natural tree edges, resembles that of a living tree. The rustic roots of the tree tables blend seamlessly into the trunk.
Liquid resin from the kauri tree grows into the root wood during its lifetime and hardens over thousands of years to golden amber. This rare natural product I process carefully and shows in the epoxy resin golden luminous and becomes a unique eye-catcher in the table top. This is how extraordinary tables are created as truly unique pieces that no human being can reproduce.
Only prehistoric kauri burl wood offers the opportunity to craft tables featuring gold-colored amber that has naturally formed within the kauri tree.

Only the long dead Kauri swamp wood I process further, no tree must be felled for your table. In addition, due to its age and preservation in the swamp, the wood is guaranteed free of pollutants and ensures a healthy indoor climate. Each Kauri table top is grown in one piece with continuous grain. Due to the imposing size of the ancient kauri trees, I can make you an incomparable table of, for example, 2 - 5 meters long and 1 - 2 meters wide. From the dining table to the large conference table from one piece of solid wood. This can be made of a tree trunk with a calm appearance as a tree trunk table, or combined tree trunk and root.

As a real novelty, I made this 2.80 x 2.10 m wooden table from a huge root. I split the imposing table top in the middle so that the two tables can be used separately or pushed together again, e.g. as an impressive conference table.

In May 2025, I took part in the Interior Design Fair Index in Dubai, a trade fair for high-quality interior design. Low-maintenance dining tables: Dining tables are subjected to a great deal of wear and tear. To give the dining table as much protection as possible, I apply a special surface treatment that makes the tabletop moisture resistant and hardens the wood structure.
Exclusive designer tables: I design each table according to functional, aesthetic and user aspects and as nature dictates, in an artistic framework. Nature is my benchmark, which in my eyes is perfect and can not be reproduced.
Impressive conference tables: for the business world, I can make you a meeting table or an impressive conference table. Due to the stunning size of the ancient Kauri trees, the conference table can be designed in a maximum size, with a tree trunk table top grown in one piece.
Coffee tables suitable for everyday use: Kauri root wood is particularly suitable for these tables. Due to the unique grain and natural growth with partly curved edges, you have a natural work of art in the middle of your living landscape.
Natural root tables: The tabletop can either be made entirely of a root or have a root portion and then merge into the tree trunk. In this case, the character of a tree can be best represented. The root wood is predestined for a fascinating table with a beautiful natural character, partly bark and amber is grown in.
Tree trunk tables or wooden trunk tables: The wood of these table tops is cut from the trunk of a tree. The table top is also grown entirely from one piece of wood. The tree edges support the calm appearance of these earthy natural wood tables.

The wood I use for the wooden tables comes from the giant Kauri trees from New Zealand, which have fallen over in the last 100,000 years due to natural disasters.
They lie there in the swamps and have long since died. No tree has to be felled for me to make you an extraordinary and sustainable wooden table.
Kauri swamp wood also provides valuable scientific findings on climate change.
I make every table with passion and humility for the special and artistic Kauri wood. With reverence for nature and let these feelings flow into my work. I enjoy shaping the primeval Kauri slabs into tables with my hands and consider it a privilege to experience how a natural work of art is created. In my eyes, every Kauri wooden table is a unique piece of natural art.
For me it is a stroke of luck that I have been able to make my work a pleasure and that I have come to the beautiful Kauri wood through my profession.

Delivery of large Kauri table with crane
If it is not possible otherwise, large table tops are transported to the customer's home by crane or furniture lift. When placing the order, the transport route to the customer's home must be clarified in advance in a discussion on how the Kauri table can be delivered.
A 350 x 155 cm table top is delivered to the customer on the 3rd floor by crane. To protect the tabletop from damage, I made a protective box that I fitted with castors. Transport of the stainless steel base with the crane. The table top is tilted from the rolling construction directly onto the base frame and connected to it. The Kauri table in the customer's home.
I was able to make special impressions at the Interior Design Fair Index in Dubai - UAE. At the trade fair for high-quality interiors for exclusive luxury properties, apartment interiors and hotels, I had discussions at my stand with interior architects and designers from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to explore a collaboration.
To bring my work closer to interior designers, I exhibited couch table tops, sculptures and sample pieces made of kauri root wood with ingrown gold-colored amber for the first time at the Interior Design Fair.

As an exhibit I sell this special wine table in size 220 x 90 cm which can also serve as a dining table. I have made it from old oak red wine barrel staves which I have assembled by hand to a table top. The special feature of this table is the warm coloring of the individual barrel staves which were achieved by the red wines stored in the barrels. I will refinish the table top before sale moisture resistant. The special price for this fancy wooden table is 4.900,- € ex workshop.
