Over its impressive size of 420 x 140 cm, the table top of this unique conference table is grown in one piece. The incomparable solid wood table top contains root wood with a unique natural characteristic and merges into the tree trunk with a calm and powerful appearance. To emphasize the natural character, I left the natural edges as they grew and hand sanded them to a soft feel.
By filling the naturally grown natural features with epoxy resin, a three-dimensional look is created that offers a special eye-catcher. With this process, the artistic natural growth of the root can be "perpetuated" and the solid wood table can be used as a conference table without restriction.
The result is a beautiful work of art of nature. Each Kauri solid wood table is an exclusive purchase for life. The unique natural features and natural tree edges stimulate the imagination of the viewer, making the Kauri table tops look like they are alive.
I filled the naturally grown openings and partly porous bark ingrowths in the root area with a high-quality epoxy resin. This preserves them and contributes to the special appearance of this wooden table. Epoxy resin is very well suited to consolidate the root-typical brittle wood. This allows the beautiful wood of the root to be preserved.
In addition, valuable precious metals or jewelry, for example, as well as ideal materials can be incorporated into the epoxy resin.
