Special Features of " Kauri " Wood and Wooden Tables
Scientific evidence shows that the species of trees known today as “ Kauri ” (Agathis australis) have been growing for approximately 65 million years. The wood I use for the tables comes from the giant “ Kauri ” trees of New Zealand, which have been toppled by natural disasters over the past 100,000 years. They lie there in the swamps and have long since died.

According to the Leibniz Laboratory for Age Determination in Kiel, this massive Kauri root, measuring 3.30 x 2.0 x 1.8 m, is at least 98% likely to be more than 50,000 years old. After it was transported from New Zealand to Germany, I cut it into a total of 38 tabletops.
The forests and wetlands home to the giant Kauri s are located in the subtropical climate of the northern part of New Zealand's North Island (Northland).
