It is supported by a modern, designer stainless steel base that was custom-made to complement the tree-trunk table and provides optimal legroom.

The extraordinary characteristics of the massive, waterlogged Kauri trees, which are several thousand years old, are beautifully showcased in these large tables.
The pronounced natural edges or tree edges, which are typically present in solid wood table tops that are cut from a tree trunk, give the designer meeting table a pristine character and provide exceptional hand caresses. The elaboration of these special natural elements required a special processing with a lot of manual work. The result is a pleasantly soft feel and special look.
I even hand-smooth the tiniest indentations in the impressive natural edges to ensure that the wood of this special table is splinter-free. Kauri Log tabletops typically feature beautiful natural edges, which are the hallmark of tables made from thousand-year-old swamp wood. Tables with pronounced edges are also called natural-edge tables.
The growth rings on the large, solid tabletop—which are visible at the ends—give a rough indication of the diameter the Kauri tree once had. Here, the tree was cut crosswise. This cut is called a cross-section, and the growth rings—which are round and run parallel to the outer edge of the tree—become visible; in every tree, these are also called end grain or face grain.
If you imagine these annual rings as a whole circle, you can draw conclusions about the diameter of the tree. The tree from which the conference table originated may have had a diameter of about 2 meters before it fell and sank into the swamp. Tables with table tops cut from a tree trunk are also called tree trunk tables.
Back when there were no humans in New Zealand, the ancient Kauri trees had diameters of up to 5 meters. As a result, the wood from these prehistoric Kauri trees is ideal for creating extraordinary conference tables, large meeting tables, and even large dining tables.
The grain of the solid tree trunk table top contains many naturally grown swirls that run through to the natural edges and are also visible here in the form of bulges. Through these special natural features and through the size of the table top grown in one piece, this modern designer conference table gets its extraordinary character.
