Unique Kauri Tables for Interior Design, Residences, and Prestigious Spaces
Kauri tables create spaces in which material, scale, and effect are deliberately conceived as a unified whole. For private clients, interior designers, and architectural firms, I craft custom tables from millennia-old kauri wood—a material with an artistic presence, a unique provenance, and exceptional quality—that open up new design possibilities not offered by other materials.

Private clients are welcome to contact me directly. Each burl or log slab is selected to complement the space and is crafted by me, a master cabinetmaker, into a custom-made table.
Kauri tables are ideal for spacious living and dining areas, open floor plans, elegant kitchens, and private rooms where a table serves as a permanent architectural focal point. Depending on the tabletop, they can create a calm, clean look or an organic, striking effect.

For interior design and architectural projects, Kauri provides a precise design foundation. Large, solid-piece burl slabs, calm heartwood surfaces, natural edges, resin zones, and select pieces with embedded amber open up unique possibilities for residential projects, private homes, exclusive penthouses, reception areas, conference rooms, and prestigious spaces in the high-end commercial sector.
In the architecture and interior design world, such one-of-a-kind pieces are particularly interesting in contexts where a table is not merely a piece of furniture but is viewed as part of the overall composition of the space.
More About Amber in Kauri Tables

Kauri wood comes from New Zealand; it is thousands of years old and, as a subfossil material, is unique and extremely valuable. Only this exceptional solid wood allows for large-format tabletops made from burl wood with a rustic grain that has grown in a single piece. Visible resin pockets, natural edges, and embedded amber make each piece distinctive and one-of-a-kind.

In spacious living environments and architecturally designed projects, Kauri tables can be crafted in unique, custom sizes. In rare cases, table lengths of up to 11 meters are possible.

Kauri tables are ideal for dining rooms, open-concept living and dining areas, elegant kitchens, private residences, exclusive penthouses, showrooms, galleries, salons, reception areas, executive lounges, and select boutique hotel rooms. They are particularly striking in rooms with generous proportions, clean lines, and high-quality materials. Kauri wood serves as a design element in its own right, with a distinct presence.

A kauri burl wood table combines the function of a table with the presence of a sculptural one-of-a-kind piece. The artistic grain of the solid burl wood, natural edges, resin pockets, and embedded amber give it a charm that lies somewhere between a design object, a functional piece of furniture, and a work of natural art.
In art-inspired living spaces, salons, libraries, entryways, galleries, showrooms, or exclusive hotel suites and Swiss and Austrian chalets, a table like this can be specifically incorporated as a focal point.
Kauri Projects in Switzerland and Austria

Kauri tables are crafted for spaces designed with the long term in mind. They retain their presence for many years and remain an integral part of the interior. Due to the limited availability and rarity of the material, as well as the irreproducible form, these pieces are unique, one-of-a-kind works that retain their value over time. As such, these pieces can also be viewed as tangible assets and long-term investments.

I personally craft and oversee every project—from the initial selection of materials to the finished piece—all under one roof. Each tabletop is tailored to the space, its intended use, proportions, and the desired effect. The result is a table that serves as both a distinctive piece of furniture and a precisely placed element of a larger interior design concept.

A Kauri project is conceived in relation to the space. Size, proportions, edge profiles, surface finish, and substructure are all designed so that the table will later appear to fit naturally into its surroundings. In architecturally designed spaces, custom-made pieces can be a major advantage.

Each table is assigned a unique serial number and comes with a certificate of age. This ensures that each piece is clearly documented and its origin can be traced.

Even for large formats and challenging construction situations, transportation, delivery, and installation are coordinated on a project-by-project basis. This also applies to upper floors, penthouses, and international projects.

For interior designers, architectural firms, private residences, and international projects, I personally oversee every inquiry and the implementation of custom Kauri projects.
