Dining table with bark in epoxy resin

I made this extraordinary dining table according to the customer's wishes with epoxy resin in a user-friendly rectangular shape. This way, the tabletop made of 47,000-year-old Kauri root wood could keep its original shape and I did not have to take anything away from the valuable wood with its beautiful natural growth.

The base of the dining table consists of two pieces of raw iron in a U-shape, the surface is oiled and thus protected. In its archaic form with its light colour changes, it adapts to the natural character of the Kauri table top. It takes a back seat so that the uniqueness of this dining table is expressed to particular advantage. This extraordinary wooden table is predestined for a modern interior.

I filled the large natural opening in the middle of the tabletop with more original gold-coloured amber and pieces of bark from the kauri tree in epoxy resin to make it look smaller.

High quality dining tables

The surface of the table top here has a satin finish. The grain of the wood is shown to its best advantage and the dining table does not look too greasy as it would with a high-gloss lacquer finish. It is also less sensitive than a surface with a higher gloss level. Depending on the customer's requirements, I can offer several gloss levels, which I will be happy to show you in my factory or in the showroom near Luxembourg on the Moselle using samples. This also includes examples with other high-quality surface coatings, such as a special and very natural-looking surface coating that looks like an oiled table top but is far more durable and of higher quality.

Overall, I process all my wooden tables to a high quality with a moisture-resistant and durable surface that will not develop moisture stains or curls. This is particularly important for dining tables, as they are subject to the most wear and tear and therefore remain suitable for everyday use.

Kauri wooden tables for modern interior design

I usually leave the edges of the table tops made from a root in a simple but haptically soft form to draw attention to the beautiful grain of the root wood grown in one piece. At the customer's request, however, I can also finish them as an organically grown natural edge with indentations and bulges in a wavy shape. This is particularly suitable if your interior design is simple and modern. This can further enhance the effect of these natural works of art and give the wooden tables made from a Kauri root a unique look.
