Cut out of the kauri tree trunk, the table top of the wooden table shows its unadulterated beauty and originality. The beautiful tree edges are preserved as desired and contribute to the natural look. After consultation with the customer, I grinded out the cracks of the kauri table top in the right area without splintering and on the left edge I filled them with a high-quality epoxy resin. Impressive is the growth in the right part of the table top where a swirling of the wood grain took place and these are visible up to the tree edges. The naturalness of the Kauri table is preserved and the customer gets an individually made wooden table according to his wishes.
Despite the open cracks, the customer does not need to worry that the tabletop will be damaged. Just like the entire surface of the table top, I also subjected the cracks inside the wood to a special surface treatment. This makes the entire table top resistant to liquids of all kinds and at the same time strengthens the wood fiber against scratches, so that the table can also be used as a dining table.
In many tests on sample pieces of Kauri wood with different surface systems, I developed in my opinion the best two variants to finish table surfaces, so that my customers no longer have to maintain their tables and they will enjoy their beautiful wooden tables for a long time. With both variants, which I will gladly present to you in my manufactory, the beautiful wood grain of the Kauri wood comes to light at the same time and the table top feels very soft to the touch.
