In May 23, I was able to present my tables and sculptures during an exhibition in the altar area of the former basilica of the Eberbach monastery in the Rheingau. In this unique setting, the artistic individual pieces were shown to their best advantage.
I was able to show a selection of extraordinary one-off pieces of furniture to an interested audience. Natural wood design tables, coffee tables and sculptures made from solid thousand-year-old Kauri root wood with epoxy resin fillings were particularly effective in the majestic building.
I polished the epoxy resin in the table top made of 3700-year-old solid wood to a high gloss so that the amber and bark contained in it could be seen crystal clear. In the background is a sculpture with natural tree edges that can also be used as a coffee table and a 205 x 105 cm table top made from a piece of 2900-year-old burl wood with fascinating natural characteristics. Further behind is the 800-year-old cross on the altar of the former church.
Individual root branches solidified in high-quality epoxy resin and permanently visible protrude visually from the unique table top.
Table top made of 2900-year-old burl wood with a play of fire and three-dimensional mountain and valley landscapes. The crystal-clear epoxy resin looks like a lake.
Kauri burl wood looks like a natural work of art, as with this coffee table, and is made suitable for everyday use with epoxy resin and a moisture-resistant surface.
It was a wonderful experience to be able to show my work to the public in this unique setting. The feedback confirms that there will always be an interested audience for handcrafted one-off pieces of high quality and with a special charisma, and that my unique pieces therefore stand out from mass production. Long-lasting pieces of furniture become unique investments for inheritance.
